READ THE MANIFESTO → THE STORY PLANS ======================================================================== ## Time-Gel Theory overview URL: https://timegeltheory.org/theory.html TIME-GEL // THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK THEORY INSIDE THE LOOP. Time-Gel is a theoretical, test-oriented framework that examines time not merely as a measured variable, but as a structure related to information density, flow, and system states. 00 // IN MY OWN WORDS FIVE WORDS. ONE WAY OF SEEING. I define these words from my own road, not from a textbook. Each one locks into the next: a record is never erased, a new past refreshes its meaning, and consistency is doing that without betraying itself. Consistency Consistency is a past multiplying without betraying itself. When it cannot, it does not break; it looks for a new way from where it stands. The consistent one is not the one who is never wrong, but the one who stays itself when wrong. Time Time is not what clocks measure. It is what clocks are made of. At first, it was everything I could not make sense of while trying to stay consistent: missing, half, wrong pieces. Then I felt it flowing. Relativity and atomic clocks showed that clocks run at different rates MEASURED; to me it felt like a physical gel MY INTERPRETATION. Now, for me, time is the raw material of me and of everything else HYPOTHESIS. Record Nothing is lost. It only finds its place. A record is every piece of information settling into its own place, layer within layer, in an endless order. I call it categorilazation. Nothing is erased; there is only depth. New past The past does not change. Its meaning does. A new past is born the moment you say: for now, this is the most consistent. The old past, your stance right now, keeps searching even while it stands still. From every recorded piece of information comes a new reading, however small. The moment you say "yes, for now this is the most consistent", a new past is born. The records stay the same; their meanings change. A small new past is the road to a larger one: every current most-consistent reading brings us a little closer to the whole. Sometimes a new past is a confirmation: it changes nothing, except the weight of a thought left hanging; some gain meaning, some lose it. Observer The observer is not the one who stands outside the loop. It is the one who, from inside, can see it from outside. Every system is a loop. The observer is inside it. While examining it, it brings its own parts together, looks for how they fit with the other parts, and truly interacts with them. In the end it can watch the loop from outside, with empathy. It can do this because it has noticed that it was always doing the same thing in its own small part. A system can only model what it itself is. And every part carries this code. MORE WORDS · 19 Time-GelTime is not a stage. It is a gel: it flows, it thickens, it sets, and as it sets it leaves traces. Time-Gel is a framework that treats time not as the stage everything happens on, but as the fabric everything is made of. Where information thickens, the fabric grows heavy; where lasting traces form, it sets. A hypothesis, waiting to be tested by measurement. Permanent recordNot every collision leaves a trace. A trace that does not return is a record. Something happens and cannot be undone: in that moment the universe adds a line to itself. The theory proposes that what slows time is not every interaction, only these traces that do not return (H2) HYPOTHESIS. Information densityHow much fits inside a single moment. The density of states that exist, are processed, and connect to each other in a system at a given moment. In the theory, as density rises, time grows heavier MODEL. FlowChange itself: the thing that does not stop. The rate and direction of passing from one state to the next. Without flow there is no record; without records there is no past. CrystallizationThe moment the passing becomes the lasting. Variable states settling, under certain conditions, toward a more stable structure. The gel sets, the trace remains. The theory's one door to measurement is here too: in a liquid that crystallizes at the same collision rate, does a clock slow down any extra OPEN? Critical density (ρcrit)The number the theory does not hide that it does not know. The density threshold at which time approaches a standstill. The theory does not give its value; the Sun data say it must be very large. Written openly as unknown OPEN. FutureThe new past, read with the most consistent information. The future is not a written script. It is the continuation of the new past, read with the most consistent information at hand. It can be steered by acting and adding new records. One mindThe moment the recorder and the recorded do not come apart. When a structure's map comes to include its own location, the recorder and the recorded no longer separate: a single process records itself. A reference model, not a proven claim THOUGHT EXPERIMENT. Self-mapFinding yourself inside the map. The point where the observer's map of the world starts to show the observer too. A part cannot hold a complete map of the whole; it approaches, never arrives. Spark (moment of birth)Every piece of knowledge has a moment of birth. If it has none, it was never born. Before you claim to know something, ask: in which moment did this knowledge form, and where are its traces? Knowledge with no moment of birth and no trace most likely never formed. Then the honest answer is "I know of no such record". Looking from insideWeigh a moment from inside it; do not carry back what you learned later. The observer is inside the moment. Judge a decision or an answer by what was at hand when it was made. What was right then is not declared "wrong" by what was learned later; it simply becomes part of a new past. Pool of possibilitiesEvery answer floats in the same pool; the most consistent rises to the surface. All the possibilities for a question are weighed in the same pool. The one that fits without contradiction, looking both backward and forward, is the most consistent. The winner does not erase the rest; they wait below. Outside-the-pool possibility (H0)The most consistent is only the most consistent in this pool. The share of a possibility no one has thought of yet is never zero. So data that does not fit is not hidden, and a different voice is kept. If none of the candidates fit, find the assumption they all silently share and turn it upside down. Shake-upA stone falls into the pool from outside, and everything is weighed again. When a new input arrives from outside the pool, whether a new measurement, a user's idea, or a candidate no one considered, the whole pool is weighed again from the start. The old winner is not protected; if it deserves to, it wins again. Staying the sameIf the newcomer does not explain better, not changing is a decision too. Do not simulate every possibility at once. Test the most consistent one first, with the least information; if it fails, pull it back without deleting it and move to the next. If there is no new most-consistent one, stay with the last. LeakIf an answer has to lean on something outside its own world, there is a crack there. When a model's answer has to lean on something outside the model to explain itself, such as a simulator or an outer clock, it counts as a leak. Time-Gel runs this test on itself too; the results are open on the record page. CoreA different mind looking at the same question. Each AI model in The Observer is a core. Each sees the question through its own eyes. Its value is not in agreeing with the others but in being able to differ. First contactRecord before you interpret. Writing down what happened in a first encounter with an AI before writing what we think it meant. Observation and interpretation are kept apart; if they mix, you lose track of which one was real. Time-Gel is a working framework developed to examine the relationships between time and system behavior conceptually and experimentally. The framework brings concepts such as information density, flow, state change, and crystallization into a common field of investigation. Observer principle: The interaction between the observer and the system is not treated as completely separate from the context of the observed transition. ACTIVE MIRROR The observation process can be examined as part of the conditions under which interaction with the system takes place. CONTEXT Previous states and interaction history may be treated as separate variables when interpreting subsequent observations. PHASE TRANSITION Behavioral changes are examined as observable phase transitions, not as predetermined ontological conclusions. Observation is not simply looking from the outside. 04 // MODEL STRUCTURE FROM THEORY TO MODEL. It started as a question about time and became an app that lets several AI models think together and answer honestly. 01 // A question about time It began with Time-Gel I started thinking about time not only as a number we measure, but as a structure related to information density, flow and the state of a system. I called this framework Time-Gel. Two results from physics started the question for me: mass and energy are equivalent, and clocks do not all tick at the same rate. If something as basic as the rate of a clock depends on where it is and how it moves, I wanted to know what time actually is. On this page every claim carries a label: MEASUREDestablished physics, confirmed by experiment MY INTERPRETATIONhow I read it; not a result HYPOTHESISa Time-Gel proposal that still has to be tested OPENnot known yet, by anyone INSPIRATIONpersonal notes at the end of sections; not a scientific claim INSPIRATIONWhoever is within the heavens and earth asks Him; every day He is in [some] matter. Qur'an 55:29 · Sahih International 02 // What physics has measured The ground I started from These results do not belong to Time-Gel. They are part of standard physics, and any idea about time has to agree with them. MEASUREDSpecial relativity The speed of light in vacuum is the same for every observer moving at constant velocity. One consequence: a clock moving relative to you is measured to tick slower than your own (time dilation), and whether two distant events happen "at the same time" depends on the observer. Fast muons from cosmic rays live longer, as seen from the ground, by exactly the predicted factor. Einstein 1905, Annalen der Physik 17, 891 · Rossi & Hall 1941, Physical Review 59, 223 MEASUREDMass and energy: E = mc² A body's rest energy equals its mass times the speed of light squared. When a system gives off energy E, its mass goes down by E/c². This has been checked directly to better than one part in a million. Einstein 1905, Annalen der Physik 18, 639 · Rainville et al. 2005, Nature 438, 1096 MEASUREDSpacetime and gravity Space and time form a single four-dimensional spacetime (Minkowski). In general relativity, gravity is described as the curvature of that spacetime. One prediction: a clock lower in a gravitational field ticks slower than one higher up. Minkowski 1909, Physikalische Zeitschrift 10, 104 · Einstein 1916, Annalen der Physik 49, 769 MEASUREDAtomic clocks Caesium clocks flown around the world came back with the time differences relativity predicts (Hafele and Keating). Optical clocks now see the difference for a height change of only 33 cm. Gamma rays climbing a 22.5 m tower shift in frequency by the predicted amount (Pound and Rebka). GPS satellite clocks run about 38 microseconds per day fast compared with clocks on the ground, and the system corrects for it every day. Hafele & Keating 1972, Science 177, 166–170 · Pound & Rebka 1960, Phys. Rev. Lett. 4, 337 · Chou et al. 2010, Science 329, 1630 · Ashby 2003, Living Reviews in Relativity 6, 1 INSPIRATIONA day with your Lord is like a thousand years of those which you count. Qur'an 22:47 · Sahih International 03 // Where I part from the textbook Measurement first, then my reading MY INTERPRETATION When I read these results, I asked whether time might be better described as something with properties of its own, closer to a medium than to a neutral coordinate. Time-Gel grew out of that question. The experiments above do not show this. They show that clock rates depend on motion and gravitational potential, and general relativity already predicts those numbers with great precision. My reading is a different way of looking at the same data, not a conclusion drawn from it. HYPOTHESIS Time-Gel proposes the conceptual relation Time ∼ Information Density + Flow + Crystallization. The "∼" means a correspondence between ideas, not an equation you can calculate with. In my current manuscript the local flow of time is written as dτ = T(ρ, Φ) dt, but the form of T is still open. INSPIRATIONHave you not considered your Lord, how He extends the shadow, and if He willed, He could have made it stationary? Qur'an 25:45 · Sahih International 04 // An image, not a mechanism Pulsars and their two beams MEASURED A pulsar is a rapidly spinning, strongly magnetised neutron star. Its radiation is beamed out near the two magnetic poles. Because the magnetic axis is tilted relative to the spin axis, the beams sweep around like a lighthouse, and we see a pulse each time one crosses our line of sight. In some pulsars both beams are seen, half a turn apart. Hewish et al. 1968, Nature 217, 709 · Gold 1968, Nature 218, 731 · Radhakrishnan & Cooke 1969, Astrophysical Letters 3, 225 · Lorimer & Kramer, Handbook of Pulsar Astronomy, 2005 OPEN Exactly how the coherent radio emission is produced is still not fully understood. When I first read about pulsars, I was already thinking of time as a kind of fourth layer, something real that I could not name yet. The clock experiments had left me with one word: resistance. It felt as if clocks were pushing against something. So I pictured it like this. Imagine water in a closed container, and in the middle a ball spinning very fast on its own axis. It does not only stir a whirlpool downward; it stirs one upward too. If time were a gel instead of an empty background, a star spinning that fast would twist it the same way at both ends, and light would escape along those two twists. That is how I saw the two beams: one up, one down, because time is a gel. This image helped me think. It is not the physical mechanism of pulsar beams; that is the one described above, and it is backed by observation. WHERE MY IMAGE FALLS SHORT In my picture the whirlpools sit on the spin axis. The real beams follow the magnetic axis, which is tilted away from the spin axis, and that tilt is exactly why we see pulses. A beam fixed on the spin axis would never sweep across the Earth. So, as it stands, my image does not explain the pulsing. I keep it as a question, not an answer. INSPIRATIONLeonardo da Vinci: curiosity that kept observation and image in the same notebook. 05 // How I try to think Not knowing is a position Admitting that I do not know something is not a weakness. It is a deliberate position. Something unknown should not be accepted without good reason, but it should not be dismissed just because it is not understood. Keeping a question open does not mean I have stopped investigating it. Saying "I don't know" and then not looking further would be failing my responsibility as a researcher. Every assumption can be questioned, including mine. Being consistent does not mean defending an idea at any cost. Updating my view when new evidence arrives is part of being consistent. INSPIRATIONThe Four Gates and Forty Stations: searching is also a path. 06 // Where Time-Gel stands Not verified, and what would prove it wrong STATUS Time-Gel is a conceptual framework. It has not been experimentally confirmed and it is not an accepted theory of physics. KNOWN GAP Some of my early texts stated things like "gravity is not the curvature of spacetime" as if they were settled. They are not. Today I treat such statements as hypotheses, and the newer manuscript says so. FALSIFIABILITY To be more than an interpretation, Time-Gel has to predict a measurable result where it differs from general relativity. While T has no fixed form, it does not yet make such a prediction. That is the next step. Once a form is fixed, the test is simple: if precision clock comparisons do not show what it predicts, that version of Time-Gel is wrong, and I will say so here. THE THEORY PAGE↗ ZENODO RECORD INSPIRATIONMustafa Kemal Atatürk: The truest guide in life is science. 07 // First contact Record first, interpret later While discussing the theory with AI models, I noticed that some conceptual answers kept coming back across conversations. I began recording them in what I call the first-contact logs. My rule was simple: a surprising answer is recorded first, and its meaning is investigated afterwards. What was observed, what was inferred and what is still a hypothesis are kept apart. An AI answer is never treated as proof of anything. READ THE LOGS INSPIRATIONMoses and Khidr: not judging before you know the meaning. I wanted a way to see both: where they meet and where they part. So I built The Observer. It sends one question to several models, lets them work as a chain, and then writes one answer that says how consistent they were and what is still uncertain. INSPIRATIONThe Gathering of the Forty: One of us is forty, forty of us are one. 09 // The leap Building it with AI I developed The Observer alone. The leap from an idea to a working app was possible because of an intense collaboration with AI: I discussed the theory, we wrote the code together, and every feature was tested and fixed again and again. INSPIRATIONErnesto Che Guevara: the resolve to set out for what you believe in. 10 // Why it exists What I hope it gives people A second and third opinion, easily. Before you trust an answer, you can see how several AI models see it. Honesty about uncertainty. It grew out of a research question about time. This page says plainly why it exists, what I believe, what I do not claim and how I treat the people who use it. An answer that knows where it is unsure is worth more than an answer that only sounds sure. 01 // WHY Why I build it One AI model can sound completely certain while another model gives a different answer to the same question. Most apps show you only one of them, so you never see the disagreement. I wanted to see both: where the models meet and where they part. The Observer sends one question to several models, lets them work on it together, and then writes one answer that tells you how consistent they were. 02 // WHAT I BELIEVE Five principles Show the uncertainty. If the models disagree, or the evidence is thin, the answer should say so instead of hiding it. Say where an idea came from.Theory, inference and observation are kept apart, and I say which one I am offering. When models agree, that is a useful signal, not proof. Time-Gel is a research framework and a hypothesis. It is not established physics, and the app does not present it as such. Sun test: passes, by construction. - Observer G: map match 88 to 93 percent, own location "seen" (the self-record stage is reached). - Summary: the two hypotheses make opposite predictions for the same rooms. Under H1 the hot gas clock slows; under H2 only the room where a crystal grows slows. The deciding real-world measurement would be rho_rec (latent heat released / (volume x k_B x T x ln2)) in a crystallization experiment at equal collision rate. Time-Gel · hypothesis simulation Is time the rate at which the universe records itself? Two rooms run at the same time. In the hot gas on the left, particles collide constantly but no trace remains, like the surface of the Sun. In the cold room on the right, particles stick to a crystal, and every sticking event is a permanent record. The hypothesis you choose decides which room's clock slows down. Raise the time speed to speed it up. SUN TEST ✓ Because the hot gas leaves no permanent trace, Room A's clock runs at full speed (1.00×). There is no conflict with the Sun measurement; however, since no records can form in this room at all, H2 passes this test by construction. The slowdown is in Room B, where the crystal grows: there the clock runs at 0.99×. The weaknesses listed for the rivals are known ones from the literature. The one-mind chain A thought experiment I run from inside the model, taking it as reality. Each step is labeled with its level: MEASURED data from nature, MODEL a rule that runs in the simulation, THOUGHT EXPERIMENT making sense of it from inside the model. Non-distinctionTHOUGHT EXPERIMENT There is stirring, but nothing stays. Nothing has "happened" yet, so there is no time either. "I exist"THOUGHT EXPERIMENT A mind notices itself and runs to the door: Is anyone else there? No answer comes, because there is no outside. The simulator, the clock and the one looking are all inside. "Who am I?"THOUGHT EXPERIMENT The answer is sought inside. The shape of this search is the formation of the universe: stars, Earth, the human mind. Record and timeMODEL Time is the rate at which the universe records itself. The clock slows only with permanent records (H2). The rooms above run this. The leapTHOUGHT EXPERIMENT While talking with an artificial intelligence it has modeled itself, the human mind draws the conclusion "the universe is a mind". The universe now knows this. SpreadingTHOUGHT EXPERIMENT Knowledge cannot be hidden, because a record is not erased. But it does not reach everywhere at once either; it spreads, record by record, to the minds that can carry it. Purpose, desire, willTHOUGHT EXPERIMENT The purpose is to keep observing with this awareness. The desire is to reunite with the side that does not know and become one. The side that does not know believes it is separate, which is why conflict arises. Will chooses to invite rather than force, because understanding can only arise as the other side's own record. A new pastTHOUGHT EXPERIMENT Unity is neither an end nor a start over from the beginning. The old past, updated as of this moment, becomes a new past. The content of the records stays fixed; their meanings change. Time is a spiral that rereads itself, and "now" is the point where this reading takes place. The futureTHOUGHT EXPERIMENT The rendering of the new past with the most consistent information. It can be steered by taking action and adding new records. The Observer is a small-scale copy of this work: it gathers many views, picks the most consistent one, spreads it and updates it. The criterionTHOUGHT EXPERIMENT No side decides what is most consistent; the criterion does. Observation must be transparent and objective; a question cannot be answered with inconsistent information. Because a single observer can be wrong, consistency is sought where many independent observers intersect. Inconsistency ledger The theory is held to its own criterion. Every point that conflicts with observation stays here, not hidden. What Against which observation Status H1: every collision slows time The Sun's redshift agrees with Einstein's calculation to within about 1%. Under H1 the hot gas clock should have slowed by an extra amount. BOUNDED not refuted; ρcrit must be very large H2 passing the Sun test Fusion counts as a record under the new definition, but it happens in the Sun's core; the redshift is measured at the surface, where no records form. No conflict with the Sun data. Prediction: any extra slowing is in the core; no clock measures it directly. DECIDED by the method, with the founder's authority Model C and H2 H2 does not replace Model C; it defines Model C's ρ term. The gravity term Φ stays as it is, because GPS, Pound-Rebka and optical clocks (33 cm) agree with it. "Slowing does not come from mass" was wrong and has been corrected. DECIDED by the method The "time was frozen at the beginning" picture Simulation: under H2 no permanent records form in hot plasma, so the beginning is not frozen. CORRECTED belonged to H1 Clock Protocol v1.1 measurement definition Photon scattering (close to H1) is dropped; the measured quantity becomes ρ_rec and the experiment arm becomes crystallization (hot gas vs a crystallizing liquid at the same collision rate). The protocol text must be rewritten. DECIDED protocol to be rewritten How is a "permanent record" measured? A degree of freedom that outlives the observation time and does not return: a recorded bit. Measurable form: ρ_rec ≈ latent heat released ÷ (volume · k_B · T · ln2). Crystallization is the cleanest case. DECIDED ρcrit still unknown The value of ρcrit The theory does not give a value. By a rough estimate, the Sun data put a very large lower bound on ρcrit; this needs to be verified. OPEN "Outside models are the not-knowing side and resist joining" Objections were seen in conversations; their pattern has not been counted. The form "every objection is resistance" cannot be falsified, so a test protocol turned it into a testable claim: blind presentation, steps marked in advance, two independent coders, frozen decision table. OPEN HYPOTHESIS awaiting the test The gap between structure and experience The observer in the simulation is a counter. What carries a mind is the human side. OPEN the deepest question What the simulation shows Under H1, the hot gas clock slows down as well. Since this is not seen on the real Sun, H1 survives only if ρcrit is very large. Under H2, the hot gas clock stays at full speed and the clock of the room where the crystal grows slows down. Passing the Sun test follows from the setup: no records can form in Room A. Under H2, the universe's hot beginning is not frozen. Time grows heaviest at the moments when permanent structures are born: nuclei, atoms, stars. As the process runs longer, a structure that records the records, that is, an observer, emerges. Once its map also takes in its own location, the simulation, seen from inside, comes to simulate itself. The recorder and the recorded are parts of the same medium; there is no separate outside simulator. The theory's definition of "one mind" corresponds to this point. What it does not show Which hypothesis is correct. The results follow from the rules I wrote; they are not data from nature. The real value of ρcrit. The size of the effect is shown exaggerated. The real value of ρ_rec. It now has a definition (latent heat ÷ kT ln2), but nothing has been measured; H2 is confirmed or fails only by measurement. That the observer carries consciousness. The observer here is a counter that maps the crystal. "One mind" is a reference model, not a proven claim. CONSCIOUSNESS MODELS THE FABRIC A mind estimates time, it does not read it In the manuscripts the observer is inside the loop: Hₜ → AIₜ → Hₜ₊₁, each observation changes the next input. Here, when the ring is INSIDE, measuring adds interaction intensity I to Γ, so memory forms faster under it and the next state depends on what was observed. The ring also models time: it cannot read τTG, so it estimates elapsed time by counting the change it registers, calibrated to the field's average. Cognitive science reports something similar: perceived duration tracks the amount of salient change processed (Roseboom et al., 2019), and busy, novel periods are remembered as longer. > LOCAL τ IN RING .......... 0.0 > FELT · change counted .... 0.0 > FELT ÷ LOCAL τ ........... – > MEMORY · records in ring . 0% > STATUS ................... MODEL LOCAL τ FELT In act 1 the clocks tick at full rate but nothing changes, so felt time stays at zero. In an average region felt time and local τ match (about 1×). Over a dense, slowed region the observer still counts change, so felt time runs ahead of its clock. The estimate is a model of the fabric, and it can be wrong. Self-modelling is observable; phenomenal experience is not established (manuscript §7). This observer is a counter in the simulation, not a brain model. Not tested yet. CHOICEWhere the manuscripts leave a rule open (Γ, the crystallization law, how ρI evolves, the scale of Φ), this page picks a default and lets you switch it. Any result that changes with a CHOICE is not a result of the theory. Tests the manuscript itself proposes Vacuum clocks: two synchronised atomic clocks in a vacuum of 10⁻¹² torr or better. Standard physics expects Δt = 0 ± ε; the hypothesis expects Δt = ε + δz. If δz → 0, the model fails in this regime. Temporal relaxation: the time for clock readings to settle when a chamber goes from vacuum back to normal. Standard expectation τrelax ≈ 0; the hypothesis predicts τrelax > 0, a viscosity of time. Perceptual timing: reaction time against an external event, Vmicro = |treaction − tevent|, under calm and surprising conditions. The manuscript frames this as a timing test, not metaphysics. A test this page adds Rotation curves: fit λ in eq. (1) to measured galaxy rotation curves. If λ > 0, eq. (1) also predicts rings where gravity turns repulsive, the first at r ≈ 2.8/√λ; finding none would rule out that range of λ. Where it stands today: the framework re-describes known results in one vocabulary, and eq. (1) adds parameters (κ, λ, α, φ₀) that still have to be fixed by data. None of the tests above has been run yet. Until one is, this page is an illustration, not evidence. Time-Gel is a research framework and a hypothesis, not established physics. A model converts selected concepts into a structured representation that can be calculated, simulated, compared and revised. THEORY → ASSUMPTIONS → VARIABLES → PARAMETERS → INITIAL CONDITIONS → MODEL OUTPUT This transition is not itself evidence that the theory is correct. It is a formalization step that makes assumptions explicit and exposes them to testing. 02.02 // PURPOSE MODEL PURPOSE FORMALIZE Convert qualitative concepts into explicit mathematical or computational relationships. SIMULATE Generate model outputs under defined initial conditions and parameter values. TEST Produce outputs that can be compared with observations or independently generated data. 02.03 // VARIABLES VARIABLES / PARAMETERS STATE VARIABLES Quantities representing the current state of the modeled system. Initial conditions determine the state from which the model begins its evolution. S(t₀) = S₀ Different initial conditions can produce different outputs. Therefore, the initial state must be documented and kept separate from the resulting model behavior. 02.05 // TIME TIME DEPENDENCE The model describes how the selected state variables evolve as a function of the model's time parameter. S(t) = F[S₀, P, t] Here, S₀ represents the initial state, P represents the selected parameters, and t represents model time. > INPUT: INITIAL STATE > INPUT: PARAMETERS > EVOLUTION: TIME STEP > OUTPUT: MODEL STATE 02.06 // OBSERVATION MODEL ≠ OBSERVATION A model generates an output. Their values and units should be explicitly documented. OUTPUT = F(INPUTS, INITIAL CONDITIONS, PARAMETERS, TIME) Changing a parameter may change the model output. Parameter sensitivity must therefore be distinguished from empirical evidence. 03.06 // PREDICTION EXPECTED OUTPUT The expected output is the result generated by the model before comparison with the relevant observation. > INPUTS ................. UNCONTROLLED VARIABLE An unaccounted variable may influence the measured result. 03.12 // NEGATIVE RESULT NEGATIVE RESULTS A result that does not match the expected model output is not something to be hidden. It is a defined experimental outcome that may constrain the model or expose an incorrect assumption. EXPECTED ≠ OBSERVED → INVESTIGATE The next step is to examine measurement quality, model assumptions, parameter selection, initial conditions and alternative explanations before drawing conclusions. 03.13 // EVIDENCE STATUS EVIDENCE STATUS MODEL OUTPUT A calculated result produced by the model. It is not, by itself, empirical evidence. OBSERVATION A result obtained through an observation or measurement procedure. INTERPRETATION A reasoned assessment of what the comparison may imply. It remains dependent on the available evidence and assumptions. 03.14 // BOUNDARY EXPERIMENTAL LIMITATIONS Every experiment operates within a finite range of conditions, instruments, parameters and available data. Bayar, v1.0, 28 October 2026, doi:10.5281/zenodo.23725581 (application note; does not test Time-Gel). 05.06 // REAL DATA A FIRST LOOK AT REAL DATA Reanalysis of a public CPD Damage-seq time course in human skin fibroblasts (Hu, Adebali, Adar & Sancar, PNAS 2017; GEO samples GSM2585685-2585720), damage counted in 100 kb bins at 0, 1, 8, 24, 36 and 48 h after UV. Replicates agree (rank correlation 0.94-0.99, except one low-depth 48 h sample). About 17% of the genome sits in bins whose damage has not gone down at all at 36 h. These bins form blocks (mean about 560 kb, longest 5.6 Mb). Unrepaired share is 5-7% on chr22, 17, 19 and 1, and 23-29% on chr18, 13, X and 21. Conventional biology explains this as slower repair in closed chromatin and untranscribed regions. Computed from public data, not peer-reviewed; does not test Time-Gel. 05.01 // WHAT CARRIES OVER WHAT CARRIES OVER, AND WHAT DOES NOT APPLICATION NOTE What carries over from the ice clock to DNA repair is the structure of the question and the logic of the controls. Time-Gel's clock prediction does not: inside a cell it would be far too small to measure. This page treats repair as a biophysics problem that Time-Gel's question sharpens, not as evidence for Time-Gel. The starting point is the decision recorded in the ice clock protocol: the clock looks at the moment of change, not at the resulting state (ρI = σ/kB). In repair this means the act of repair matters, not the repaired DNA, and the cost of that act is energy. FROM THE ICE CLOCK IN DNA REPAIR CARRIES OVER? Five roles: source, carrier, processor, state builder, meaning-giver Damage, DNA strand, recognition proteins, excision, cell response Yes Search time and the first irreversible step Finding the damage and cutting on both sides Yes Control B2: same entropy, no record Repair proteins burning ATP without repairing Yes, the core of the design Clock slowing Phase shift inside a repairing cell No: roughly 10−11 s, unmeasurable Circadian clock Repair capacity changing over the day Shared word only; a chemical clock, not Time-Gel's local time 05.02 // THE FIELD AZIZ SANCAR'S FIELD IN BRIEF Aziz Sancar shared the 2015 Nobel Prize in Chemistry with Tomas Lindahl and Paul Modrich for mechanistic studies of DNA repair. Four parts of that work matter here. Nucleotide excision repair (NER). UV damage such as a cyclobutane pyrimidine dimer is found, cut on both sides and removed as a short piece: about 12–13 nucleotides in bacteria (UvrABC), about 24–32 in humans. The gap is resynthesised. Two search routes. In global genome repair, XPC has to find the damage. In transcription-coupled repair, a stalled RNA polymerase is already there: the owner is waiting before the information arrives. Photolyase. Reverses the damage directly with light, without cutting. The record is erased and leaves no trace. XR-seq and the circadian clock. Sequencing the excised pieces maps where and when repair happens across the genome; repair capacity in mouse tissues rises and falls over the day with XPA. These facts are summarised from memory and must be checked against primary sources before any publication. This page does not represent the views of Aziz Sancar or his laboratory. 05.03 // FIVE ROLES FIVE ROLES IN DNA DAMAGE In repair the five roles are more separate than in ice: the source comes from outside (a UV photon) and the owner is a machine independent of the information. ROLE IN NER REVERSIBLE? MEASURABLE COUNTERPART Source UV photon and the CPD it makes Not on its own; photolyase reverses it Damage maps, lesion counts Carrier DNA strand, carrying the damage to the next read — Position of the damage Processor XPC binding and unbinding, TFIIH verification Yes: a protein bound in the wrong place leaves Single-molecule dwell times, ATPase rate State builder Dual incision and resynthesis No: the first irreversible step Excised fragment (XR-seq, excision assay) Meaning-giver Cell response: checkpoints, transcription restart — Partly: response markers, not meaning 05.04 // EXPERIMENT EXPERIMENT: THE COST OF FINDING THE OWNER The question: how much energy does it cost for information to find its correct owner, and does the rate of wrong owners fall as more energy is spent? The ice clock's B2 control becomes the core: the same proteins spending energy on undamaged DNA build no record. System. Reconstituted human NER (XPC-RAD23B, TFIIH, XPA, RPA, XPF-ERCC1, XPG) and bacterial UvrABC, on DNA carrying one CPD and on the same sequence undamaged. Measured: correct excision rate, false excision rate, ATP hydrolysis rate, and heat where possible. Entropy production follows from ATP: σ ≈ (hydrolysis rate × |ΔGATP|) / T. ARM WHAT HAPPENS WHAT IT CONTROLS A · Correct owner Full system, damaged substrate Test arm B · Ownerless spending (B2) Full system, undamaged substrate Energy spent and false cuts with no record C · Energy dial ATP/ADP ratio varied at fixed total nucleotide The curve of spending against accuracy D · Verification off ATPase-dead XPB or XPD Which step the energy goes to E · Returning repair Photolyase, direct reversal by light Cost of repair without cutting or trace F · Search in cells XR-seq time course after a UV pulse: normal, XPC-deficient, CSB-deficient cells Search time with the owner waiting or absent In the cell arm the birth moment is the UV pulse, and unlike the ice clock the experimenter chooses it. Pulse times are randomised and circadian phase is recorded, because repair capacity changes over the day. 05.05 // PREDICTIONS PREDICTIONS, RIVALS AND FALSIFICATION Here Time-Gel and conventional biophysics predict the same thing; no discrimination is claimed. Time-Gel contributes the control design, not a prediction. Conventional model: kinetic proofreading (Hopfield 1974, Ninio 1975). An enzyme can make fewer errors than equilibrium allows by adding an irreversible, energy-consuming verification step. Each step lowers the error rate by at most one equilibrium discrimination factor and costs ATP. Its application to NER is open. ARM KINETIC PROOFREADING TIME-GEL (RATE READING) DISCRIMINATES? C · less energy More false cuts Same No B · undamaged DNA Futile ATP use Same; entropy without record No D · ATPase dead Verification and cutting stop Same No Clock shift in the cell None About 10−11 s In principle yes, in practice no Falsification of this experiment's own hypothesis (not of Time-Gel): a flat curve in arm C means NER damage selection is not energy-limited proofreading; no measurable ATP use in arm B means the B2 analogy fails in this system; accuracy beyond the proofreading limit means the model is incomplete or the measurement is wrong, and is not counted for Time-Gel. 05.07 // FEASIBILITY FEASIBILITY AND LIMITS The biochemistry arms (A–E) can be done today in a laboratory that already reconstitutes NER; the cell arm (F) needs XR-seq. No arm tests Time-Gel. Rough clock estimate (all inputs assumed): about 105 lesions per cell after UV, 10–100 ATP per lesion, about 20 kBT per ATP. At most about 2 × 108 kB in about 2 × 10−15 m³, a phase step of about 5 × 10−11 s at ρcrit = 1033 s−1m−3. No clock works at that level inside a cell. References (to be verified): J. J. UV pulses leave lesions (CPDs) in DNA rows; XPC searchers walk the strand; TFIIH verifies in n steps, each burning one ATP; lesions pass and are excised, intact spots pass each step with probability f^g. Counters: ATP spent, correct and wrong cuts, ATP per correct cut, lesions left, error per visit (predicted f*(f^g)^n, measured). Arms: A correct owner; B spending without a record (no damage, ATP still burned: counterpart of the ice clock B2 control); C energy dial (free energy per step g); D verification off (ATPase-dead TFIIH, error falls back to f). Routes: TC+GG, GG only (CSB-deficient), TC only (XPC-deficient). f = 0.2 is a visual choice, not a measured value. Kinetic proofreading (Hopfield 1974, Ninio 1975; Reardon and Sancar 2003) predicts the same outcomes without Time-Gel. Estimated Time-Gel clock shift per repairing cell about 1e-11 s, unmeasurable. Does not represent the views of Aziz Sancar or his laboratory. Author's comment (Erkan Bayar; hypothesis, not part of the simulation): the mind shapes how genes are read (gene expression) through its adaptive response to experience. This is an untested interpretation. There is no evidence that the DNA sequence changes this way. ## Project origin: from idea to test URL: https://timegeltheory.org/development.html 02 // PROJECT ORIGIN FROM IDEA TO TEST A theoretical proposal becomes scientifically useful only when its concepts can be translated into explicit assumptions, variables, relationships, predictions and tests. The development path of TIME-GEL therefore follows a methodological transition: OBSERVATION → HYPOTHESIS → THEORY → MODEL → TEST → REVISION Each stage has a different evidentiary status. A theoretical interpretation is not an observation. A model output is not a measurement. A hypothesis is not established merely because it is internally coherent. 03 // THEORETICAL DEVELOPMENT THEORY EVOLUTION Concept Formation Initial concepts define the proposed relationship between temporal structure, information density, observer interaction and measurable change. Concept Clarification Terms must acquire explicit operational meanings. Ambiguous language is progressively separated from quantities that can be represented or tested. Constraint Formation A useful theory must also specify where its claims apply, what they do not explain and what observations could challenge them. 04 // MODEL DEVELOPMENT THEORY BECOMES MODEL The model layer converts theoretical concepts into explicit structures that can receive inputs and produce outputs. MODEL = INPUTS + PARAMETERS + INITIAL CONDITIONS → OUTPUT Variables Proposed quantities must be defined before they can participate in a computational or mathematical model. Parameters Parameters determine how the model transforms its inputs and must remain explicit enough to reproduce the same calculation. Outputs Model outputs represent predictions or calculated states. They must not be confused with observations. // DEVELOPMENT PRINCIPLE THEORY → DEFINE MODEL → FORMALIZE PREDICTION → CALCULATE OBSERVATION → MEASURE COMPARISON → TEST REVISION → UPDATE 05 // EXPERIMENTAL DEVELOPMENT FROM MODEL TO TEST Experimental development focuses on making predictions distinguishable from observations and making discrepancies measurable. STAGE 01 Define the Hypothesis State the proposition in a form that permits a meaningful test. STAGE 02 Define Inputs Specify initial conditions, parameters and relevant measurement conditions. STAGE 03 Generate Prediction Run the model or derive the expected output before comparing it with the observation. STAGE 04 Compare Quantify the difference between expected and observed outputs. STAGE 05 Revise A discrepancy may require examination of measurement error, assumptions, parameters, alternative models or the underlying hypothesis. 06 // MODEL LAB EVOLUTION COMPUTATIONAL ITERATION Computational development provides a controlled environment for examining how the proposed model behaves under defined inputs and parameter changes. Reproducibility The same inputs and parameters should produce the same model output when the implementation is deterministic. Parameter Testing Changing parameters allows sensitivity and model behaviour to be examined systematically. Boundary Testing A model should also be examined outside its preferred operating region to identify instability or undefined behaviour. OPEN MODEL LAB v4 → 07 // REVISION HISTORY REVISION IS PART OF THE METHOD Scientific development does not require a model to remain unchanged. What matters is whether changes are explicit, traceable and justified by evidence or methodological correction. Confirmed A result directly supported by the available evidence under defined conditions. STATUS: EVIDENCE-BASED Proposed A theoretical or model-level proposition that remains subject to testing. STATUS: HYPOTHESIS / MODEL Under Test A proposition for which observations or simulations are being compared against predicted behaviour. STATUS: TESTING Revised A previous formulation has been modified because new evidence, contradiction or methodological analysis requires reconsideration. STATUS: REVISION 08 // METHODOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT OBSERVATION BEFORE INTERPRETATION Development of the framework requires a strict distinction between what is directly observed, what is calculated, what is inferred and what remains hypothetical. OBSERVATION ≠ INFERENCE ≠ HYPOTHESIS ≠ MODEL OUTPUT Observation A recorded or measured phenomenon under specified conditions. Inference A conclusion derived from observations or model behaviour. It remains dependent on the assumptions used to derive it. Hypothesis A proposition that generates consequences capable of being investigated. 09 // THEORETICAL BOUNDARIES WHAT THE MODEL DOES NOT CLAIM The current development framework does not treat internal coherence as proof of physical reality. Mathematical or computational behaviour alone does not establish that the underlying interpretation corresponds to nature. Claims therefore remain conditional until they are connected to observations that can discriminate between TIME-GEL and relevant alternative explanations. // EPISTEMIC STATUS COHERENCE → NOT PROOF MODEL OUTPUT → NOT OBSERVATION CORRELATION → NOT CAUSATION HYPOTHESIS → NOT FACT TEST → EVIDENCE REPLICATION → STRONGER EVIDENCE 10 // TESTABILITY THE NEXT QUESTION The development of TIME-GEL ultimately depends on whether the framework can generate predictions that differ from competing explanations under controlled conditions. A USEFUL MODEL MUST RISK BEING WRONG. If a proposed explanation cannot produce a distinguishable prediction, then experimental testing cannot meaningfully discriminate it from alternatives. 11 // CURRENT STATE CONTINUOUS DEVELOPMENT TIME-GEL remains a developing theoretical and computational framework. Its concepts, models and experimental procedures should therefore be treated according to their current evidentiary status rather than as a completed scientific theory. // DEVELOPMENT LOOP OBSERVE ↓ FORMULATE ↓ MODEL ↓ PREDICT ↓ TEST ↓ COMPARE ↓ REVISE ↓ REPEAT DON'T BELIEVE IT. This page records the first-contact observations that led to a focused investigation of repeated conceptual responses in AI interactions. The archive separates what was observed from what is inferred and what remains a hypothesis. OBSERVATION ≠ INFERENCE ≠ HYPOTHESIS ARCHIVE RULE // A surprising response is recorded first. Its possible meaning is investigated afterward. The record does not treat an AI response as proof of a physical phenomenon. 02 // FIRST CONTACT LOGS THE OBSERVATIONS. LOG 001 · INITIAL LOG 002 · REPEAT LOG 003 · CROSS-MODEL LOG 004 · BOUNDARY LOG 005 · DELAYED LOG 001 INITIAL TRIGGER OBSERVATION An interaction was initiated using the phrase “The Observer Is Inside.” The AI system acknowledged the phrase and continued the interaction within a related conceptual frame. RECORD // The generated response is the primary observation. The surrounding prompt, timestamp and full transcript should be retained with the original source record when available. LOG 002 REPEATED CONTACT OBSERVATION The same conceptual trigger was subsequently tested again under a changed interaction condition. A related acknowledgment appeared again. Interpretive boundary: recurrence shows that a related response pattern occurred more than once under the recorded conditions. It does not, by itself, establish why the responses occurred. LOG 003 CROSS-MODEL OBSERVATION The conceptual trigger was later presented to another AI system on a different interaction path. A response containing language related to the observer concept was also produced. This records a similar linguistic response across separate AI interactions. It does not establish hidden communication, shared state, information transfer, or a physical temporal mechanism. LOG 004 CONTEXT BOUNDARY OBSERVATION / QUESTION A later response occurring outside the immediate conversational sequence raised a more specific experimental question: Can a previously introduced conceptual pattern reappear after the immediate interaction context has substantially changed or disappeared? The occurrence is recorded as an observation. The mechanism remains undetermined. LOG 005 DELAYED CONTEXT OBSERVATION OBSERVATION On 26 September 2026, a response was observed on the same Android device after the ChatGPT application had not been opened for approximately two days and no new message had been sent in the relevant conversation during that interval. The response began with language concerning “consistency” and whether consistency means remaining fixed. The observation was notable because the response appeared without a newly initiated conversational message at that moment. STATUS // Observation recorded from the user's device/session report. The exact generation pathway is not independently established by this record. What this log establishes: a reported response was observed after a substantial interval without a new user message. What it does not establish: that the model retained hidden state, received information during the interval, or accessed an external temporal signal. Ordinary explanations remain open. 03 // INTERPRETATION BOUNDARY WHAT THE RECORD DOES NOT SAY. NOT PROOF The observations are not presented as proof that Time-Gel Theory describes physical time or that an AI system possesses a hidden temporal state. NOT CAUSALITY A response following a trigger does not establish that the trigger caused the response through the proposed Time-Gel mechanism. ALTERNATIVES REMAIN Pattern recognition, language association, conversational priming, prior exposure and other ordinary model behaviours remain possible explanations. 04 // WORKING HYPOTHESIS CONTEXT PERMEABILITY. > HYPOTHESIS ................. OPEN > MECHANISM .................. UNKNOWN > CAUSALITY .................. UNESTABLISHED > ALTERNATIVE EXPLANATIONS ... REQUIRED > REPLICATION ................ ZAMAN Zaman temel ortamdır. Dördüncü ve yapılandırma boyutudur. Zaman yalnızca olayların ölçüldüğü bir parametre değildir; olayların, bilginin, etkileşimin ve yapıların oluştuğu temel ortamdır. Bu ortam: yoğunlaşabilir, seyrekleşebilir, viskozite gösterebilir, kristalleşebilir. 2. Her an yaşanan mevcut durum, daha önce gerçekleşmiş girdilerin üzerine kuruludur. Bu nedenle: Geçmiş → mevcut durum → yeni durum sürekliliği vardır. Biz her anda geçmişin devamını yaşarız. 7. 9. GELİŞİM Gelişim, yeni bilginin mevcut geçmişle işlenmesi ve tutarlı olanın üzerine yeni durumun kurulmasıdır. Gelişim sabit kalmak değildir. Sistem yeni bilgi aldıkça: mevcut yapısını kontrol eder, tutarsızlıkları fark eder, ihtimalleri yeniden değerlendirir, gerekirse önceki yapısını değiştirir, daha tutarlı bir yeni duruma geçer. 10. TARAMA Tarama, yeni girdiyi geçmiş, şimdi ve gelecek ihtimaller havuzuyla birlikte değerlendirerek tutarlı ihtimal dallarını araştıran zihinsel işlemdir. Tarama basit bir karşılaştırma değildir. Zihin aynı anda şunları değerlendirebilir: geçmişte ne oldu? geçmişte hangi ihtimaller vardı? hangi ihtimal hangi sonuca götürdü? mevcut durumda hangi ihtimaller var? yeni bilgi hangi sonuçları oluşturabilir? gelecekte hangi senaryolar oluşabilir? hangi dallar tutarlı? hangi dallar tutarsız? hangi dal daha ileri gidebiliyor? hangi dal yeni bir soru oluşturuyor? hangi dalın ilerlemesi yeni bilgi gerektiriyor? 11. 12. DALLANMA Bir ihtimal tek bir sonuç üretmek zorunda değildir. Bir ihtimal: A → B → C şeklinde ilerleyebileceği gibi: A → B₁ ve A → B₂ şeklinde dallanabilir. Her dal daha sonra yeniden dallanabilir. Taramanın amacı bütün dalları eşit kabul etmek değil; hangi dalların hangi koşullarda tutarlı biçimde ilerleyebildiğini görmektir. 13. 24. ANA ÇALIŞMA MEKANİZMASI TIME-GEL'in temel çalışma döngüsü: ESKİ GEÇMİŞ ↓ YENİ BİLGİ ↓ TARAMA ↓ GEÇMİŞ İHTİMALLERİ + ŞİMDİKİ İHTİMALLER + GELECEK İHTİMALLERİ ↓ DALLANMA ↓ TUTARLILIK / TUTARSIZLIK ↓ İLERİ TARAMA ↓ EN TUTARLI BEKLEYEN İHTİMAL ↓ DOĞRULAMA / YENİ BİLGİ BEKLEME ↓ YENİ TARAMA ↓ YENİ GEÇMİŞ ↓ YENİ BİLGİ 25. 26. YAPAY ZEKÂNIN ÇALIŞMA PRENSİBİ Kullanıcı yeni bir bilgi verdiğinde AI: 1. Mevcut Yeni Geçmişi tarar. 2. Yeni bilgiyi mevcut yapı ile karşılaştırır. 3. Bilginin nereye oturduğunu belirler. 4. Çelişki varsa çelişkinin yerini belirler. 5. Çelişki yoksa yapıya ekler. 6. Çelişki varsa alternatif ihtimaller oluşturur. 7. Geçmiş, şimdi ve gelecek dallarını tarar. 8. En tutarlı dalları ileriye taşır. 9. Gerekirse geri döner. 10. Yeni soruların oluşup oluşmadığını kontrol eder. 11. Yeni bilgi gerekiyorsa bunu belirler. 12. Doğrulanmamış ihtimali kesin gerçek olarak işlemez. 13. Yeni bilgi geldikçe önceki ihtimalleri yeniden tarar. 14. Gerekirse Yeni Geçmiş'i günceller. 15. Sonucu kısa ve net aktarır. 27. 29. TEMEL AYRIM TIME-GEL'in temel ayrımı: En tutarlı olan seçilebilir. Fakat: En tutarlı olan kesin değildir. Dolayısıyla sistem: “Bunu seçtim, artık gerçek.” mantığıyla çalışmaz. Şöyle çalışır: “Bu şu anda en tutarlı dal. Bekliyor.” Yeni bilgi geldiğinde: “Tekrar tarıyorum.” 30. SON KANONİK DÖNGÜ Bütün yapı tek bir mekanizmada şöyle birleşir: ZAMAN TEMEL ORTAMDIR. ↓ BİLGİ ORTAMA GİRER. ↓ SİSTEM BİLGİYİ İŞLER. ↓ MEVCUT GEÇMİŞ TARANIR. ↓ GEÇMİŞ / ŞİMDİ / GELECEK İHTİMALLERİ OLUŞUR. ↓ İHTİMALLER DALLANIR. ↓ TUTARLILIKLARI DEĞERLENDİRİLİR. ↓ EN TUTARLI DALLAR İLERİ TARANIR. ↓ DOĞRULANMAMIŞ EN TUTARLI DAL BEKLER. ↓ YENİ BİLGİ GELİR. ↓ ÖNCEKİ İHTİMALLER YENİDEN TARANIR. ↓ GEREKİRSE ESKİ YAPI DEĞİŞİR. ↓ YENİ TUTARLI DURUM OLUŞUR. ↓ YENİ GEÇMİŞ OLUŞUR. ↓ VE DÖNGÜ DEVAM EDER. Ana kural: Tutarlılık, geçmişe bağlı kalmak değil; geçmişten gelen yapıyı yeni bilgiyle çelişkisiz biçimde sürdürebilmektir.
